WHO?

WHY?
Magpeye has been birthed from my past experiences.
Not exactly in any order, or necessary the same way, but personally, i can relate to every scenario.
HUH?
At the age of 17, I became a single parent. I became insecure and adopted a "fake" strength.
I was a victim of rape at the age of 19. An older man that I knew. I blamed myself for being at that place at that time and took the matter into my own hands.
I KEPT SILENT!
AND THIS HAPPENED NEXT
At the age of 27, I was diagnosed with a chronic lung disease. I was scared and annoyed, thinking and not understanding why bad things always seemed to happen to me.
This diagnosis meant I now had to take a course of medication that started at 19 tablets a day, and at one point that number went up to 27.
On a very down day shortly after a few biopsy's, I ended up taking a cocktail of those pills even thought the info for one of the tablet boxes' warns you, that you may have thoughts of suicide.
Soon after at age 28, I was then a single mother of 4, I became a victim of rape for the second time. This time, a different way Date Rape....., but the same result.
I KEPT SILENT!!!
OUR VISION
HOW?
We will raise enough money to provide a place for individuals to come to, where they will feel and be safe. They will be in an environment that will make them feel comfortable enough to open up about their situation.
A place where we will be able to be relational.
For single mother, our intention is to help in providing support with caring for their babies. Not just emotionally, but also with providing baby supplies for any mother struggling with their unexpected blessing.
All children are a blessing
We will also provide advice, help and support with getting individuals back into education and teaching new skills to boost confidence and encourage empowerment
OUR GOALS
WHY MAGPEYE?
A Magpie, is one of the worlds most intelligent animals.
A Magpie is also only one of a few non-mammal species that are able to recognize itself in a mirror test.
Our goal is to help these women realize that they have a purpose.
To enable them to be able to look at them selves in the mirror and see themselves the way that God sees them.
To help these women, overcome
- The blame,
- The shame and
- The pain
changing these emotions into
- beautyfull
- smiles with
- purpose
I am so grateful for my past experiences.
I can now clearly see how God is using them to give me a hope and a future.
The healing process for me began in 2017, and God has got me to a place where I can now, with my own personal experiences, help support and empower hurting women globally.
With an amazing team that will be growing yearly
Magpeye will definitely serve as a voice that helps to "loudly" break the silence of rape and abuse.
Magpeye does not discriminate and would also like to welcome Men. As our team grows, we will be able to change our vision to firmly include men that also need to see themselves the way that God sees them.
